Baseball
Eli Crozier drove in both Bergen Tech’s runs during the Knight’s 15-2 loss to Ridgewood. Crozier picked up the win in Bergen Tech’s 8-7 win over Cliffside Park. Eric Wallace had a home run and two RBI for the Knights, and Mike Ferrante had three RBI to lead Bergen Tech.
Teaneck defeated Belleville 3-0 behind Matt Tuzzeo and Michael Rueger. Tuzzeo picked up the win, shutting out the Buccaneers while surrendering just four hits. Rueger slammed a home run and drove in two runs for the Highwaymen. Kasey Grabe also had an RBI. Josh Mendoza homered and drove in four runs as Teaneck downed Nutley 7-6. Rueger drove in two runs, and Wil Perez picked up the win for the Highwaymen. Grabe, David Shwartz and Liam Cohen drove in runs during Teaneck’s 16-5 loss to Paramus. Cohen led Teaneck with two RBI, but the Highwaymen lost to Ridgefield 13-6.

Theresa Kaminsky drove in Hackensack’s lone run in the Comets’ 10-1 loss to Bloomfield. Korey Kozaryn pitched a no-hitter as Hackensack defeated Passaic 4-0. She struck out eight batters and was one walk away from a perfect game. She helped her cause on offense, driving in one run, as did teammates Meghan Georgeou, Nicole Schider and Yokie Germoso. Kaminsky had an RBI in Hackensack’s 9-1 loss to Passaic Valley.
Teaneck defeated Paterson Catholic 10-3 behind the pitching of Katie Berman. Allie Levin had three RBI for the Highwaywomen, and Maddy Dessanti had two RBI.

Volleyball

Bergen Tech swept Bergen Catholic 25-20, 25-13. Rami Alrabaa had 10 kills to lead the Knights’ offense, and Ozan Yilmaz (12 assists) and Matt O’Neill (13 digs) also had solid games. Alrabaa had nine kills in the Knights’ 25-20, 25-20 sweep of Barringer.

Hackensack’s Jermaine Boyd was a double gold medal winner at last week’s Ironman Invitational at Don Bosco. Boyd placed first in the 110 and 400 hurdles. Teammate Debonair Clinkscales won the shot put event, and the 800 meter medley team (LaRue Harris, Conroy Walker, Lawrence Banton and Ronald Bembry) also finished first.
