Fire on Second St. is extinguished
Members of the Third Platoon responded to a phone alarm at 12:22 p.m. Sunday, March 30 at 388 Second St. There, firefighters found smoke emanating from the front door and sides of the 2.5 story wood frame building.
The occupants already had self-evacuated and advised firefighters that the fire was in the basement. The firefighters stretched an attack hose line into the basement and confined the fire. Other firefighters searched the building and ventilated it to release smoke.
The fire was soon extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
The fire was deemed accidental, and the building occupants were self-relocated.
